Bishop Michael Curry

Comissioned by St Anna’s Episcopal Church on Esplanade Ave. Bishop Michael Curry was elected in 2015 as the first African American Bishop and the current head of the international Episopal Church. Most Famous for marrying prince Harry and Megan Markel. This piece was originally going to be 6 x 8 ft but grew to 9 x 11 as I listened to more of his sermons and read his books. The symbols in the background are the adinkra symbol Akoma Ntoso which means Strength through Unity. The dragonfly in the lower right corner is a nod to my father.
